Empathy helps us keep our emotions in check. Rather than singling out an individual for being different or not promoting diversity, it is essential to motivate these individuals to stay true to themselves, as well as confident. Diversity is significant in a workplace; it provides creativity and perspective. This only happens when a leader is someone that is empathic to understanding these criteria in the first place. It is great that as a leader you may have these strong views, and you may want to share them, but if someone does not agree — it is best just to see where they are coming from, rather than belittling them or saying they are wrong.
